Let's start 2012 off with an "In The Studio" workshop at Young Avenue Sound. It will by lead by Nil Jones and will cover how to integrate recording live instrumentation with production created with Virtual Instruments and Drum Machines. It will focus on proper techniques in pre-production, recording, and mixing using a vintage Neve VR 36-Channel Console.

Nil Jones has developed his talents through years of experience in the recording industry.He honed his skills on tape machines and analog mixing desks working on recordings like J. Blackfoot’s “U Turn”, and Barkay’s “Your Place or Mine”. His resume also includes studio time with Ice Cube, Muthas Day Out, Nuthin Nyce, Ma$e, along with remixes for Bryan McKnight and Shania Twain.

His most recent projects include Tiffany Thornton’s “Sure Feels Like”, Lil Wayne’s “Grown Man”, the New Boyz’ “Tie Me Down” f/Ray J, and Lloyd’s “Lay it Down remix. f/8Ball & MJG. Nil has worked on several gold and platinum records and he continues to be active in the growth and development of the industry. A skilled mixing engineer, recording engineer and producer, his experience infuse his projects with a foundation for success.

This workshop is for aspiring engineers or producers and it will give them a chance to ask questions from a working professional to understand what it takes to be a professional engineer!
